stark reality that this is costing them
thousands to keep their children
alive.
Some have had to re-mortgage their
houses; others having to fundraise
and beg the public for help.
This horrendous and totally
inhumane situation continues in
the UK. I also think of the thousands
of other children with intractable
epilepsy, the cancer patients, the MS
patients, the people living in agony.
We have created a two-tier system in
the UK.
It's horrendous. If you have money,
medical cannabis is available, yet if
you don't, it is not.
I fear that the system we have in the
UK with NICE, NHS trusts, and a lack
of leadership from Minister Matt
Hancock will see the continued block
of medical cannabis in the UK for
some time.
As to the year ahead, I look forward
with the optimistic view that this
battle continues to open up access.
Hopefully this time next year I will be
writing about the fact the NHS has
opened up access and we can once
again have a health system to be
proud of.
