FILIPINOS DISPLAY THEIR FORM AT ASEAN SECTION IN A COLOURFUL STYLE

FILIPINO participation in the 2017 National Multicultural Festival in Canberra proved a strong attraction . Philippines ’ participation , as part of the ASEAN section of the Festival at The Civic , comprised one display stall of Philippine Embassy and the Philippine Department of Tourism , and one Filipino food stall of the Filipino Language School . A feature of the Filipino participation was a public selfie photograph competition , ‘ It ’ s More Fun In The Philippines ’, with the winner receiving a trip to a resort in exotic Palawan flying Cebu Pacific . Local savoured Filipino dishes delights including adobo , dinuguan , lechon kawali , caldereta , guyabano , buko , and halo-halo . Philippine Ambassador Minda Calaguian-Cruz said it was a wonderful event , a yearly activity when people from different cultures had the opportunity to showcase their respective cultures . “ The Philippines has a booth was showcasing particularly some sites of the country in tandem also with the ASEAN , the countries among the region composed of ten counties ,” the ambassador said . “ The Philippines now chairs the ASEAN for 2017 , so we will chair all the meetings of the ASEAN . “ This is a very good opportunity to showcase ASEAN .” •
