Hearts bleed for Julian
TRIBUTES from around the world have poured onto the Blacktown suburb of Lalor Park , grieving over the death of seven-yearold resident Julian Cadman ( in picture ), killed in a terrorist attack on Thursday , August 17 , while holidaying with his mother Jumarie in Barcelona , Spain . Fifteen other people died in the attack Jumarie , a Filipino-Australian , was recovering in a hospital Spanish after suffering serious injuries from the attack . The local Seven Hills community held a special fund-raising day for the Cadman family at Mackenzie Boulevard Park with entertainment , fund activities and appearances of some Olympic athletes . Proceeds went to the Julian ’ s family . A Facebook page in memory of Julian , a year 2 student at St Bernadette Primary School in Lalor Park , received hundreds of posts from people the world over . In a statement , Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop said the Government was “ deeply saddened ” by his death . Blacktown mayor Stephen Bali said in a statement on Facebook that the terrorist attack had “ directly touched Blacktown City ” with Julian a student at St Bernadette ’ s Catholic Primary School at Lalor Park . “ Julian , you were a much loved member of our local community whose life was tragically cut short , may you rest in peace .” British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson tweeted : “ I send my sincerest sympathies to the family of Julian Cadman and all those who loved him .” Julian ’ s family holds dual Australian and British citizenship . Even British singer Geri Halliwell tweeted her condolences to Julian ’ s family . •

Senator goes to bat for the ‘ No ’ vote
OPPONENTS of same-sex marriage in Australia were the “ underdogs ” in the upcoming national postal vote and will be threatened by advocates for change , according to Senator Zed Seselja . Mr Seselja , the Assistant Minister for Social Services and Multicultural Affairs , accused Opposition Leader Bill Shorten recently of trying to limit
FILM free speech on the debate . Further , the ACT senator said media outlets had decided to support the “ Yes ” campaign and were “ guilty of biased coverage ”. His comments followed Mr Shorten ’ s criticism of a TV commercial by opponents of same-sex marriage . The Opposition Leader had labelled
a Coalition for Marriage ’ s commercial as “ total rubbish ” and linked changes to marriage law to sex education in schools . Speaking on ABC TV , Senator Seselja said Mr Shorten was attempting “ to shut down free speech ”. “ This ad is from concerned mothers , who are citing examples from

Felino Dolloso ’ s screen play script is ready . His cast is on standby . And his technical team of cinematographer and technicians are on board for the project .
“ Now we ’ re soliciting backers and sponsors to make the project come to life ,” Dolloso says . It will the first feature film of its kind in Australia , written and produced by a Filipino-Australian with a cast of Filipinos and a Filipino-Australian in the lead role . At this point in time , Dolloso ranks as the only active Filipino-born actor in Australia with stage , television and film credits . The working title of Dolloso ’ s film is ‘ The Good Filipino ’. It is a story about a young Filipinodirection he is looking for ?
The main characters are Noel , his uncle tiyo Ferdi , and Noel ’ s partner Tess . The good samaritan turned out to be a Filipina
WHEN a Canberrra Reporter journalist tripped and fell in the middle of a busy street in Canberra recently , spilling bags of goodies and her Canon camera across the road , pedestriansrofroze and stood on the footpaths watching as she started to pick herself up . But a young woman with scars on her face rushed to help the journalist pick herself up and collected all the bags and contents . Then she walked the embarassed and dazed journo a couple of blocks away to her appointment . The good samaritan turned out to be a Filipina , Eleinejoy Cabutaje , and biased coverage , which in turn limited free speech . “ I think there ’ s no doubt that most of the media has made up their mind about this issue and they are very much supporting the ‘ Yes ’ campaign . “ Those who argue the ‘ No ’ case are the underdogs and they ’ re going to be threatened .” •
