Culture shock is a real thing, I felt it. Even
though I moved from a metropolitan city:
Delhi to Mumbai there is a huge gap
between the lifestyle of both places. Iʼm a
proud Delhiite and coming to Mumbai for
college was a bittersweet thing for me.
But I was determined to study in ISDI
because Iʼve come to the college for the
Front Row Project and I loved the
atmosphere and the faculty of the
college. I was a bit nervous that I
wouldnʼt be able to gel with people. But I
was welcomed warmly in ISDI and it
became my second home.
To be honest I started loving fashion
design and design in general due to my
love for lady gaga. Before I became her
fan, I never knew that so much could be
said through the design choices you
make. Since then Iʼve been hooked on
fashion as a way to express myself. It is
like a new life you step into. You
transform and live a different life every
time you change your outfit. Fashion also
connected me to many new designers
that I admire now. ISDI has given me an
open platform to be free and let my
creative juices flow. That is something Iʼve
craved and Iʼm very delighted to have
finally got it. Although I miss Delhi, Iʼve
fallen in love with Mumbai and ISDI,
which has become my creative haven.
