NOVEMBER EDITION SPECIAL FEATURE
Wiltshire Women Mean Business
In November TBE we will be profiling some of Wiltshire’s
most inspiring business women.
Female equality is on the rise in the workplace, with
positive statistics reported in June of this year revealing
that for the first time in history there are no all-male based
boards. However, there is still a lot of progress to be made.
Only 18% of UK SME businesses are female led and only
22% of FTSE 100 board members are female.
In 2011 the government set a target that by 2015 25%
of FTSE 100 board members should be female. In May
2014 recent data showed we had hit 21.6%, up from
12.5% in 2011. This means that out of 1,117 FTSE board
members, 241 were female.
THE BUSINESS EXCHANGE
KEY STATISTICS
Readership: 15,000
Circulation: 5,000
In order to reach Lord Davies target of 25%, 48 more
board seats need to be held by women in 2015.
In this edition of TBE we will be empowering women in
business to reach for their goals and ambitions. We have
approached some of Wiltshire’s most successful women
across all industries, to give us their top tips for getting
ahead in business and help women succeed in their goal
for true equality in the workplace.
