BUSINESS NEWS From doctors to design with no appointment necessary BUSINESS SHOW SWINDON IS A STEAMING SUCCESS Husband and wife team Lesley and David Wood celebrated moving their business ‘The Front Room’ into Gable House, High Street, Malmesbury last month. The premises used to be occupied by the towns doctors surgery, so is a well known property in the town. Almost 1000 attendees and exhibitors attended the fourth Business Show Swindon at STEAM on 15 May. The event was organised by Business West and sponsored by Excalibur. The business aptly named ‘The Front Room’, started out in David’s home as a graphic design company. The business has gone from strength to strength and since Lesley joined two years ago, the range of services for businesses of all sizes has been expanding rapidly too. The Front Room offers mobile friendly websites, logos, brochures, social media and email marketing and sales campaigns to help businesses grow. Lesley commented, “We’re thrilled with our new premises and being part of the vibrant commercial hub which is the lower end of the High St. There’s a wealth of interesting and successful businesses run by visionary entrepreneurs in and around Malmesbury and we’ve been lucky to create partnerships with many of them, providing skilled sales, marketing and design support at a fraction of city agency prices”. The show featured a keynote speech from Rob Law of Magmatic Ltd, the company behind the much-loved children’s brand Trunki. A packed audience heard an inspiring speech from a passionate, engaging and creative entrepreneur. Rob shared his truly remarkable journey to success; how he has grown Trunki to a global brand and his top tips for bringing manufacturing back to the UK. There was over 90 exhibitors from a wide range of sectors including Pebley Beach, Total Guide To, SEQOL and The Business Exchange Swindon & Wiltshire. The Business Show provided excellent networking opportunities for local businesses with the ever popular speed networking sessions and LinkedIn Lounge. Ian Larrard, Director of Swindon and Wiltshire Initiative, Business West said: “Business is about connecting people; people buy people.
