PEOPLE

The countdown is on to the region’ s premier leadership and management event

Building on last year’ s success, Leadership Dialogues is returning to The Forum in Bath on Wednesday 2nd July 2025.
This in-person event is designed to build community and is an opportunity to inspire and be inspired by Intentional Leaders, from multiple different sectors, who are shaping positive futures.
Founded in 2024 by Professor Steve Wyatt, published author and lecturer at the University of Bath, Leadership Dialogues facilitates a learning opportunity for anyone operating as, or aspiring to be, an inspirational leader or manager. Those in corporate business, the SME ecosystem, not-for-profit and charity sector, secondary or higher education are all offered the opportunity to engage with speakers about their journeys, interact and network with new contacts, as well as contribute to ideas which can help shape the future. Speakers will share their fascinating stories, insights and tips to leave attendees with the tools they’ ll need to thrive as future figureheads.
This year’ s theme is Leadership as a Force for Good – building upon the five pillars of Intentional Leadership( Aspire, Ally,
Adapt, Accelerate, Accountable) – the event seeks to focus on making a positive impact, whether for your enterprise, community, civil society or the nation. Key speakers and facilitators include Dr Krish Kandiah OBE, social entrepreneur and broadcaster, Peter Jelkeby, Chief Sustainability Officer at IKEA, Margaret Heffernan, author and business advisor, and many more.
For the anticipated 300 delegates, the day is divided between motivational speeches from leaders who share their own stories, alongside interactive break-out sessions in the afternoon where delegates can‘ find their tribe’ and, under the expert guidance of workshop facilitators, connect and explore how they might collaborate to achieve greater impact in their own sectors and communities
Professor Steve Wyatt, Leadership Dialogues founder said,“ Leadership is hard. Maybe it always has been hard but definitely in this context of hyper-speed, complexity and uncertainty – often polarised views and
antagonistic or aggressive media or social media – it’ s hard! There’ s little point in looking back to the models that have gone before – that time, those events, those ways of operating have all disappeared. And we can’ t look to the future either because no one knows what’ s around the corner.
“ So, the best we can do is look to the present, the examples of great leaders in the current situations – what are they achieving and how are they achieving it? Leadership is not a theory, it’ s a practice, it’ s something that we DO. We need to be decisive and deliberate. That’ s why we launched Leadership Dialogues, as an opportunity to hear from great leaders, an opportunity to share your own stories with one another, to find your own‘ tribe’ through break-out groups that are thematically organised giving an opportunity to share ideas. We’ re building a community of intent – of positive leadership and support.”
Facilitator Dr Krish Kandiah OBE, said,“ I was privileged to be part of last year’ s event
and as a speaker one of the highlights for me was listening to the leader of Astra Zeneca, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, alongside a world-class rugby coach and someone who’ d rode across the Atlantic, all offering leadership insight – how to be a leader of purpose and of impact.
“ This year I’ m going to be talking about the power of empathy. With school children in the UK surveyed to be some of the most unhappy and dissatisfied children in the world, what can we do to help? I’ ve been working with hundreds of thousands of school children to help them unlock the power they can have to make a positive difference in our world, using empathy as the key tool. I’ m looking forward to sharing more insights with you at Leadership Dialogues on 2nd July in Bath.”
