Driving‘ secure by design’ innovation, across the South-West and beyond

Introducing Vysiion – the trusted technology partner for leaders in energy, defence, blue light, transport, industry and the public sector
“ The infrastructure our nation’ s critical services depends on has changed exponentially in recent years, with the increased convergence of information technology and operational technology bringing performance and efficiency benefits, whilst introducing a range of complex challenges. This is where Vysiion excels: it has the experience, agility, and capability to support the digital transformation of the UK’ s critical national infrastructure, and those tasked with the operation of our essential services.” Peter Clapton, Vysiion CEO
From emergency services to energy, manufacturing, and defence, the delivery of critical services across the UK requires a new breed of underlying infrastructure – one that supports increased and seamless flows of data between the most challenging, remote locations, with the highest standards of physical and cyber security throughout. However, with legacy systems all too frequently showing their limitations and an increasingly complex regulatory landscape, achieving this often proves prohibitively costly and challenging.
At Vysiion, we provide a‘ secure by design’ approach that is central to all that we do – from the behaviours, systems and processes we use to the design and delivery of our innovations, and ongoing support on behalf of our customers.
A THIRTY-YEAR HERITAGE – DELIVERING CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE ACROSS THE UK Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Chippenham, Wiltshire, Vysiion has spent the past three decades delivering highperformance, mission-critical infrastructure and platforms, technical services and support in response to these challenges. In doing so, we have established ourselves as a trusted technology partner for organisations across the most challenging, highly regulated sectors, including energy, defence, blue light, transport, industry, and the public sector.
To achieve this, as part of the Exponential-e Group, we leverage an evolving range of leading-edge solutions spanning network, cloud, cyber security, communications and IT / OT managed support, delivering these in intelligently integrated combinations, tailored to the most complex environments. To date, Vysiion has delivered over £ 300 million of mission-critical platform and infrastructure projects in this way.
CULTIVATING THE NEXT GENERATION OF DIGITAL TALENT
Jamie Gatland, Vysiion Apprentice and Sales Executive, shares his Vysiion story.
“ I started as a sales executive in August 2023, focused on shadowing senior team members to learn the trade in a 360 role. Then, I was able to shift my focus to new business development skills and was also able to steadily increase my responsibilities, to the point I began managing some accounts. However, once I have completed the final stages of the L3ITTS apprenticeship that Vysiion have supported, I will transition to being an account executive, with a focus on the emergency services and other key suppliers. This is the area where I have had the most success and enjoyment so far and have been encouraged to pursue further.
“ Vysiion have put a lot of time and effort into developing my fellow apprentices and I. They’ re a great employer to work for and really care about the human element, as well as continuous professional development.”
With more than 170 direct employees, our UK NSV teams are actively supporting CNI customers at sites across the country, establishing a new standard of best practice around the design implementation, and management of critical infrastructure. Our‘ secure by design’ model encompasses every aspect of project delivery – from the initial conception and planning stages to the final execution and ongoing management, with ironclad security practices binding these often critical physical and digital technology systems together.
Whilst technology is fast-paced, and our approach iterative and evolving in response to the challenges our customers face, technical innovation is only one aspect of Vysiion’ s work. Our employees are active in communities across the South-West, working to inspire and cultivate the next generation of digital talent through a range of academies and apprenticeships. Indeed, many longstanding employees at Vysiion first joined the company this way, and have continued to
develop their skills and capabilities, working across the UK to successfully deliver some of the most challenging critical infrastructure projects.
Ethan Jones, Field Services Engineer, said,“ I started with Vysiion as a trainee field service engineer in the FST team, mainly covering fibre and telecoms across the UK. Since starting and with no prior experience, I’ ve progressed and gained an understanding of fibre optic installations, overhead line and substation working practices. Vysiion has also given me the opportunity to work on a number of offshore platforms, helping maintain the wind farms out in the North Sea.
“ My time at Vysiion has been great. I joined from the retail sector with no knowledge or experience and have received the training and support needed to allow me to travel up and down the UK, installing critical fibre communications for the UK’ s energy suppliers. This opportunity has allowed me to build a career I otherwise might not have ever known. I’ m very grateful to be working here
and look forward to continuing to progress with Vysiion.”
By nurturing the next generation of talent in this way, Vysiion is helping establish digital transformation as a means to optimise the delivery of critical services across the UK.
