SWINDON AND WILTSHIRE ' S MOST INSPIRING WOMEN-

By Anita Jaynes, Founder, The Business Exchange

AS VOTED BY YOU

For a fourth year, we’ re celebrating Swindon and Wiltshire’ s most inspiring women. Through our website and social media channels, we asked our readers to vote for the women in our community who inspire them and this is the list …
What I love most about this feature is putting the spotlight on our unsung heroes, those who often don’ t get the credit they deserve. It’ s fantastic to recognise these amazing women for all their hard work. Congratulations!
This list was compiled to celebrate International Women’ s Day( Saturday 8th March 2025), a global day which recognises the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’ s equality. This year’ s IWD theme is # AccelerateAction and we asked the women featured in our
list where they would like to see change. Here’ s what they said...
“ I would like no woman or girl to feel unsafe simply due to their sex. We need to change cultural norms that says violence against women and girls is somehow normal.” Lady Fiona Lansdowne, Chair, Ending Violence Against Women & Girls Group Wiltshire
“ I’ d love to see faster progress in how working women are supported- especially when it comes to flexibility, career progression, and the perception of working mums.” Lauren Roberts, Media Consultant, Scott Media
“ As a woman in tech, I’ m keen to see the industry become more inclusive, as it remains heavily male-dominated” Fiona Major, Operations Director, Systemagic
“ One of the areas I’ d like to see change is the language used around women in business, especially when it comes to money and investment. It’ s well known that it’ s far more difficult for a woman who runs a business to get investment for growth, than a man. That needs to stop.” Sally Holland, Partner, PPS Chartered Accountants
