It ’ s an exciting time at Wiltshire College & University Centre ( WCUC ) following the launch of more new T Level courses this September .
Designed by industry , endorsed by employers , T Levels can help build the workforce of the future for your business – and take our students ’ futures to the next level .
What is a T Level ? T Levels are post-16 qualifications that combine classroom learning with industry experience , and a qualification represents the equivalent of three A-Levels .
Students complete around 315 hours in an industry placement across the duration of their two-year course , which equates to about 45 days in the workplace . They are set targets to work towards whilst contributing to your company .
In September 2024 , WCUC launched exciting new T Level courses in Accounting ,
Animal Care , Land based Engineering and Midwifery . These go alongside our existing T Level courses in Business , Digital , Education & Childcare , Engineering & Manufacturing , Healthcare and Science .
Chelsea studies the T Level in Engineering & Manufacturing at WCUC and has undertaken an industry placement at manufacturing company Meiyume in Wiltshire .
She said , “ I chose to study this T Level course because I love engineering and I want to be an aerospace engineer in the future . I have been doing a placement at Meiyume and it has been really enjoyable . The placement is a key part of the course as it is really important to learn those practical skills needed in the workplace . We always feel like we ’ re making a good contribution to the companies we join .”
