The support available has been carefully crafted after a period of consultation with Wiltshire businesses and health care professionals . Adults in employment and those self-employed spend a large proportion of their time working , as such our jobs , and our workplaces , can have a large impact on our health and wellbeing .
Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling , Cabinet Member for Public Health said , “ Most large corporates have occupational health and wellbeing programmes in place for staff , but smaller businesses and those self-employed often don ’ t have the resources to put wellbeing plans in place – and don ’ t know where to start . So this is where we can help .”
AccessPeopleHR reported that there has been a 55 % rise in sickness absence since 2019 in data collected from 1,775 SMEs

nationally . There are lots of mitigating factors for sickness absence , which cost employers thousands of pounds in lost productivity each year . Physical and mental demand on our bodies can take its toll , increasing the risk of injury and poor health .

wealth of information on workplace health , our team of Health Coaches are offering one to one support for businesses to start their journey creating a healthier workforce . Health Coaches offer funded support to any Wiltshire business to help improve workplace health - whatever size . Support is tailored to the specific needs of the organisation .
The offer includes access to professional health coaches for 1-2-1 support or group sessions including :
• Emotional wellbeing
• Healthy eating and moving more , including weight management
• Support for giving up smoking and reducing drinking
• Individual health checks , including blood pressure checks .

Health Coaches can deliver support onsite , in-person , by telephone , or using video conferencing to employers and employees . They also deliver courses in Mental Health awareness , Stress awareness , Mindfulness and more .
