Holly is a huge advocate of social media for business and how it can catapult brands and business services . In a previous life , she ran a successful printed country lifestyle magazine and 90 per cent of her sales came through Instagram . She attracted high-end brands to work with her publication through posting authentic content . Holly loves the power of effective social media campaigns for small business , and how platforms can be used to attract audiences most could only dream of without finding a substantial marketing budget .

Social media marketing can be incredibly powerful for accelerating business growth and lead generation , but at times and I hear you , it can also feel like you ’ re fighting a losing battle with new features being released faster than you can keep up with .
When looking at social media trends for the coming year , consider who the author is , if published by a social media platform like Instagram ( Meta ) then bear in mind , they ’ re likely to embrace the opportunity to promote the features they want you to use .
Here are a few broad trends for 2023 that
will be important for brands and marketers to note for social success this year and beyond .
1 . Instagram reels are integral to success on the platform If you ’ ve dodged reels until now , stop ! According to Hootsuite , ‘ reels grew by 220 million users between July and October 2022 ’, video content is on the up across the board . With Instagram ’ s own algorithm prioritising reels , and users reporting a drop in the reach of static posts there ’ s never been a better time to hit record .
2 . LinkedIn gets personal You may have noticed in recent months a shift in what you ’ re seeing on this platform . Personal insights into the lives of professionals will be the driving force for LinkedIn in 2023 . Think personal brands .
3 . TikTok will be top of the class I see your eyeroll , but I raise you business acceleration … Community and authenticity are two of the vital content pillars to focus your attention on this year . TikTok offers both . Behind the scenes , light-hearted and relatable video content showing the people behind your brand will be the key to your success on TikTok as a business in 2023 .
