BUSINESS REVIEW OF THE YEAR ADVERTISING FEATURE

A YEAR OF CREATIVITY AT JAZZBONES

It ’ s been another year of exciting projects for Swindon-based branding and design agency Jazzbones . Here we put the spotlight on just a few of the company ’ s key projects of 2022 .
JULIA ’ S HOUSE AND THE BIG DOG ART TRAIL Jazzbones has an extensive track record working with local and national charities and this year has been working with Dorset and Wiltshire-based children ’ s hospice Julia ’ s House on their big fundraising project of 2023 .
Julia ’ s House is working with creative producers Wild in Art to create a large-scale public art trail in Swindon , set to be unleashed next summer . The main trail will feature around 30 sculptures featuring individually designed artworks based on a bespoke balloon dog sculpture commissioned for Julia ’ s House .
Each ‘ Swindog ’ sculpture will be sponsored by local businesses and decorated by local artists and communities . Jazzbones brief was to deliver a name , strapline and logo for the art trail and after coming up with a host of options , Julia ’ s House eventually opted for ‘ The Big Dog Art Trail : Swindon goes walkies .’
The eye-catching logo cleverly incorporates a number of relevant features a balloon dog , a paw , and a paintbrush – without looking overly fussy .
As part of the first stage of this project , Jazzbones also provided Julia ’ s House with comprehensive brand guidelines and templates of how the branding can be rolled out across physical collateral and social media .
Jazzbones are so excited about this project that they have decided to get behind it themselves , sponsoring one of the Swindogs . The team can ’ t wait to see what it looks like once painted by one of the great artists involved in the project . To find out more about the Big Dog Art Trail visit : www . bigdogarttrail . co . uk
REBRANDING DIRECT HEALTHCARE SOLUTIONS TO ECRUA Swindon-based Direct Healthcare Solutions ( DHS ) appointed Jazzbones to help rename and rebrand the business in order to differentiate DHS from a larger competitor with a similar name , and to make sure their brand was fit-for-purpose ahead of a planned geographical expansion . The company provides a range of healthcare products including moving and handling equipment and bathing and hygiene products . After getting to know DHS ’ raison d ’ être , personality and USPs , the first part of the brief was to come up with a new name . Jazzbones ’ copywriting team provided multiple options broken down into different genres and the eventual winner was eCura . eCura is an innovative name that contrasts with the more traditional descriptive names of most other companies in the health sector . The origin of the name comes from the Latin word ‘ cura ’ ( cure )’. Placing the ‘ e ’ before it makes the word unique whilst the ‘ ec ’ suggests eco which sits nicely with the sustainable ethics .
Along with the name , Jazzbones created a new strapline , ‘ Making life easier ’. This homed in on what eCura does in practice , which is make life easier for the end users of their equipment .
Visually , eCura also has a contemporary new look that is a total break from the past . Their new logo is made up of a vibrant eCura wordmark inside a ‘ flower ’ symbol . In its simplicity , natural feel and immediacy , it is designed to work perfectly in any setting , from traditional print to social media .
