The Outstanding Contribution to Swindon and Wiltshire Tech Award was a new award introduced for 2022 , recognising those who ' ve made a real difference in our local tech community . There were three nominees and this award was put out to a public vote with thousands of people voting for their winner , Roderick Hebden .
Rod created an event called the Festival of Tomorrow to bring tech and sustainability to all , particularly young people to allow them to become excited by the potential of technology .
Rod , said , " I came up with this crazy idea of creating something which was open and accessible to all – and did not have the feel of a science fair for techies . I wanted to create excitement around future tech and to get families thinking about what they want their future world to be and the choices they want to make for that future .”
