A FANTASTIC CELEBRATION OF THE FINEST TECHIES IN SWINDON & WILTSHIRE
Inspirational tech companies , founders and teams celebrated the fifth annual Wiltshire Techies Awards by getting together – face to face at last – to honour the winners of the 2022 awards and to celebrate all those shortlisted .

The Techies , which is an initiative run by The Business Exchange for Swindon and Wiltshire , took place in person at the state-of-the-art Sandstorm Film studios in Badbury , near Swindon . Hosted and organised by Anita Jaynes , Founder of The Business Exchange , the annual event shines the spotlight on the county ’ s amazing techie talent which too often goes under the radar . It ’ s one of the few celebrations which brings both the north and the south of Wiltshire together .
Anita , said , “ I ’ ve run the award scheme for the last five years and the work coming out of our area just gets more impressive . Our community is building , and it was fantastic to see many new faces and showcase the promising tech startups and growing tech businesses in our area . All our finalists deserve recognition for their inspiring work and dedication to growing their businesses and in turn our local economy .
“ At the moment all we hear is doom and gloom . Yet I believe growth , opportunity , collaboration and success is there for the taking . We just need to work together to achieve it .”
The Techies are judged by some of our area ’ s most successful entrepreneurs and business growth partners , including James Eades , Managing Director of Systemagic , Kat Wellum-Kent , Business Services Director at Monahans , Ali Hadavizadeh , Business Support Specialist at Acorn Biz Solutions , Mirabelle Stobbs , Programme Manager at Swindon Borough Council , Paddy Bradley , Chief Executive Officer of the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership and Kate Westbrook , Head of Commercial at Thrings Solicitors .
The judges spent hours deliberating over the entries before they made their decisions . Techies judge , James Eades ,
And now for the FINALISTS and WINNERS ! said , “ It was a privilege to be on the judging panel again for The Techies and exciting to see a large number of first-time entrants . I was impressed and excited by the breadth of techfocused businesses that Wiltshire houses – from defence to logistics , creative to software . As always , a huge congrats to the worthy winners and thumbs up to all nominees – it really was extremely close in most categories , and you are all a credit to Wiltshire ’ s tech community . Thanks to Anita for being the powerhouse behind The Techies – we ’ re very lucky to have her advocating for our local tech community .”
This year , the trophies themselves were also very special and made by South West based entrepreneur , engineer and inventor Edward Chudleigh MBE . Based on a honeycomb design , the awards were made of plant-based recycled materials .
