GOING FOR GROWTH
SOUND BUSINESS APPROACH TO MUSIC
Wiltshire indie band TALK IN CODE( TIC) have their sights set on further growth this year following an impressive 2021, after employing business-like strategies to expand the bands market presence.
Like many artists and organisations, the band has felt the effects of the pandemic, but despite these unprecedented challenges TIC has been fortunate enough to experience growth.
This February the band are releasing the single Young Love ' s Dream ahead of the album, The Big Screen, two months later in April.
The band adopts plans and strategies that are no different to any other business in recognising the importance of building something for longevity, particularly given the independent nature of their position.
Having had deals and brushes with various music industry organisations, TIC have built their own team, including a passionate live agent and resident photographer to support with all the work that goes on outside the music creation and live performance.
Now, TIC have accumulated an impressive 180,000 online music streams, been added to over 700 Spotify playlists and look forward to a positive year ahead.
Amidst various income streams, TICs largest income comes from live performance and associated sales at gigs, which scaled-up, accurately reflects the position of international artists’ live income versus music sales.
Given the prolific nature of streaming platform services and the associated royalty of a-quarter-of-a-penny, a sharp rise in live show ticket prices has been necessary to counterbalance perceived losses. This is not dissimilar to a business considering where its main income source is and capitalising on that, whilst reviewing how to improve on lower performing areas.
Due to continued activity, persistence with releasing music and promotion in recent times, TIC have enjoyed success, headlining stages at all three of Wiltshire’ s recent major events; Mfor, Concert at the Kings and Swindon Shuffle. They have also appeared on the national programme of Foodies Festivals alongside Scouting for Girls and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
TALK IN CODE headline Level 3, Swindon, for an album launch show on Saturday April 16th, 2022.
