Reflections on a momentous year for Haines Watts Swindon By Mike Lloyd, Managing Partner

As 2021 draws to a close and business moves into a new dawn in 2022, the team at Haines Watts Swindon has been reflecting on an extraordinary year in Business.
We are grateful both as a business and individuals that we’ ve thrived over this last year. With the pandemic still raging and change being thrown at businesses throughout the year, we know how fortunate we are.
Currently, success takes many forms in business, for some it will be about survival, for some about maintenance and for others it’ s been about growth. We are fortunate that it has been growth for us.
I would like to thank my team for their hard work and dedication over the last 12 months and we’ re ready for all that 2022 may bring. Five highlights of 2021 have been:
• New staff and promotions – this year the Haines Watts Swindon family has grown by eight, with a team now of 25 and several staff have been promoted.
• Support – being able to help hard-hit clients plan and manage finances so they have been able to survive has been hard work yet hugely fulfilling.
• Celebration – it’ s also been inspirational to support some clients with high growth because their services have been in demand and to help them navigate this.
• Collaboration – 2021 saw the launch of Haines Watts Employer Services, where trusted experts in different yet aligned business disciplines have come together to provide holistic support to businesses. This includes HR and recruitment services, business coaching and employment law with other services coming onstream in 2022.
• Community & charity – the pandemic has not only hit the business community, it brought serious challenges for organisations in the not for profit sector. Haines Watts has continued to support not-for-profit clients this year and continues to give back where possible. This has included sponsoring a fundraising golf day at Wrag Barn for the charity Hft which supports young people with learning difficulties and the Swindon Christmas Toy Appeal providing a Covid-safe collection point for new toys to go to 100s of children in the town who face a very bleak Christmas.
I would like to wish all TBE readers and contributors a happy and peaceful Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
