|
A few key take aways …
• Intel Corporation( UK) Ltd hold on to the top spot, increasing profits by 149 per cent, despite being two per cent down in revenue.
• RWE Generation see a 260 per cent increase in profits despite being five per cent down in revenue.
• This is the last time Honda will appear in the list as the firm have now closed the Swindon car plant.
|
• Swindon is still by far the most economically active town or city in Wiltshire with eight out of the top ten companies based there.
• The second most prosperous town in the list is Chippenham, followed by Devizes and Trowbridge.
• Salisbury our only city has six companies in the top 100. Paddy Bradley, CEO of the
Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership, said,“ Congratulations to all the
|
businesses listed in The Business Exchange Top 100 for 2021. The turnover and profit figures show the market at work when the country faces a health and economic crisis. These businesses have done themselves and our area proud as the conditions they have been operating in have been extraordinarily challenging. Around a half of the Top 100 increased their turnover in this last year, with slightly less marking an increase in profits. A number of businesses, |
whilst not recording a profit at least reduced their losses. The list is an illustration of the breadth and depth of the sectors represented by these businesses. That diversity of our area’ s business base helps build our resilience to economic shocks and enables the area to bounce back. We have quite a gap in turnover between number 1 and 100 on the list, but that mix of established performer and rising star gives our area its vibrant and resilient economy.” |
