Mintivo Directors Chris Gough and Mark Adams tell us about their plans for further expansion of the Chippenham-based Managed IT firm …
Why the new recruitment drive ? Chris : The Covid-19 pandemic has created a greater reliance on IT among businesses . As a result , we ’ ve been extremely busy taking on new customers and helping people transition to a new way of working . We need to grow to meet these demands .
What ’ s different about Mintivo ? Chris : We want to create a modern IT culture . Our main mission is to create the best customer support we can , rather than just being about technical support . So , we want to recruit technical talent as well as customer service talent ; things that don ’ t traditionally go together .
We also do lots for our employees . It might sound cliché , but we ’ ve tried to build a family in which everyone wants to support each other , and that ’ s what we ’ re looking for in the recruitment drive . Someone who wants to be a part of a modern , engaging company .
Mark : People and culture are very important to us . We want people to be happy coming into work , so we engage our employees , listen to them and provide support , and this promotes creativity .
We also offer really good perks like unlimited paid holidays , bingo nights , drinks nights , games and quizzes . The benefits of keeping people engaged are amazing . People are really positive and happy and that ’ s reflected in the work they do .
How has Covid-19 shaped the future of Mintivo ? Chris : Judging people on their output , rather than whether they are sat at a desk 9am-5pm , is a value we ’ ve had from the outset , so the Covid situation hasn ’ t actually been a huge learning curve for us . Having said that , we ’ d like to be in the office a bit more for social and mental wellbeing reasons .
Mark : Working patterns are definitely shifting but you ’ re never going to completely replace the office . Initially , lots of our employees were looking forward to working from home , but when people work remotely , they tend to work harder and longer hours . Now everyone is desperate to get back to the office !
What are Mintivo ’ s main goals for 2021 and beyond ? Chris : More of the same . We want to continue to attract the right people , develop what we ’ re doing and support people with modern , Microsoft cloud solutions as remote working continues to be important for many businesses .
