Ealing Studios , founded in 1902 , is the oldest film studio in the world . The site has hosted British TV classics such as Monty Python and Dr Who , and films including The Importance of Being Earnest . Its latest large-scale movies include Darkest Hour with Oscarwinning actor Gary Oldman and Hitman ’ s Bodyguard with Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L . Jackson .
The company is now shifting its business to tackle the climate crisis headon , recognising the key role the creative industries play in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and influencing wider societal change . tons of carbon dioxide . That ’ s nearly as much CO2 as an average American generates in a year .
The three 22 kilowatt fast chargers , installed by Good Energy ’ s One Point partner RAW Charging , are spread across two locations on site , including the Grade-II listed White House building . The investment is designed to support Ealing Studios ’ employees and clients , including A-list actors , make sustainable choices . Good Energy will operate and maintain the charge points over an initial three-year period .
This latest move follows Ealing Studio ’ s decision last year to switch to 100 per cent renewable power . Good Energy will supply the entire site with 4.75 gigawatt hours of clean power over two years , an estimated

saving of 1,204 tonnes of carbon dioxide . This is the equivalent of taking almost 1,000 cars off the road each year .
Ealing ’ s Studio Manager , Charlie Fremantle , said , “ Demand for electric vehicles will only increase as more sustainable and more affordable models come into the market . Productions are increasingly looking at sustainable business models and at Ealing we are leading the way in offering genuine green solutions .”
The investment is the second pilot project for Good Energy ’ s new One Point service , which simplifies EV charging for businesses by offering a streamlined , allin-one package . The first project saw four charge points installed at Watergate Bay Hotel in Cornwall .
