Returning for its second year this February, The Business Exchange South West Charity Conference is set to connect business with the third
sector, thanks to support from event sponsors Milsted Langdon LLP, Stone King LLP, and Fidelius Group.
Digital transformation: Building the charity
you want, on purpose
Taking place at Bath Racecourse on Thursday 6th February,
the conference and expo will be an opportunity for local
businesses, charities and not-for-profits, to connect, share
learnings, and go for growth.
THE DAY’S SCHEDULE:
Networking breakfast
Diversity in the Third Sector
The day will begin with a networking breakfast at 7:30am.
Our guest speaker is Bradford-on-Avon-based charity,
Dorothy House Hospice Care who will be discussing
diversity in the third sector. The charity will talk about
Ubiety, its collection of luxury therapy products.
THE SEMINARS
Throughout the day we have a series of seminars planned.
These will cover a number of topics voted for by attendees
of the inaugural 2019 South West Charity Conference. The
seminars include:
Charities Vital Signs Report
Quartet Community Foundation will deliver the findings of
its 2019 report which focuses on ten key areas of interest,
mapping trends, highlighting strengths and identifying areas
of improvement in the ways tat charities work.
The range was designed in partnership with Arcania
Apothecary to create a new funding stream for the hospice.
This exciting collaboration has led to Ubiety products being
stocked in beautiful boutiques and venues across the UK.
Tickets are priced at £10+VAT and include breakfast rolls
and refreshments.
The Expo
The expo will officially open at 9am after the networking
breakfast. This part of the conference allows charities to
showcase their work and latest appeals and companies to
demonstrate their third sector specialisms.
Organisations signed up to exhibit on the day include, Metro
Bank, Bath University, Ojo Solutions, Naturally Social, Bike
the UK, People against Poverty, Cornwall Glass, the Forever
Friends Appeal, Julian House, 3SG and our event sponsors

The expo is free to attend, but delegates must register
their attendance.
3SG: What support is available
for local charities?
James Carlin, founder of 3SG, the thriving, independent,
membership network that supports the charity, social
enterprise, faith and voluntary sector throughout Bath &
North East Somerset, will inform delegates of the support
available to them locally and how 3SG helps organisations
connect and grow.
Ojo Solutions and The House will explore how to build a
resilient and maturing digital charity by looking at why you
exist and what purpose truly is? The session will look at how
people, processes, culture and technological capabilities
can shape and create the digital charity you want to be.
Whether you’re a technology expert or new to the digital
world, this session will use real-life examples to challenge
your thinking and provide practical steps for effective digital
transformation.
Finance FAQs
Gill Freeman, Head of Charity and Not for Profit at Milsted
Langdon will host a Q&A and drop-in session to answer
any burning accountancy questions or issues affecting your
organisation.
Business Ethics – Building charity
into your business model
Fidelius Group are set to host an empowering session in
partnership with Lifting Africa Clothing, an online retailer

Over 90 delegates attended the 2019 Charity Conference and
the plan is to double that in 2020.
