NOTE FROM THE EDITOR
INSIDE THIS EDITION
Welcome to The Techies special edition
of The Business Exchange Swindon &
Wiltshire.
In this issue we celebrate the finalists and
winners in our tech awards for Swindon &
Wiltshire, The Techies 2019.
Our centre pages are dominated by the
awards night (18-23) revealing the winners,
finalists, judges, sponsors and what made
the winning entries turn the judges’ heads.
Compiling the news for this issue made
me incredibly proud to live, work and be
part of our amazing Wiltshire community.
So many exciting things are happening on
our doorstep, right at the cutting edge of
technology. Turn to page 4 to read about the
hydrogen vehicle revolution, page 5, to read
how Catalent are investing £20 million in
Swindon to develop medicines of the future
and page 25 to see how innovative marketing
is helping to keep Wiltshire Air Ambulance
flying.
We’re also proud to be supporting Men’s
Mental Health Swindon and have donated
two free pages to the cause. Turn to page 6
to read our exclusive interview with the man
behind the campaign.
In this edition we’re also excited to
share the details of YES (Young Enterprise
Swindon), a new networking group organised
in collaboration with The Business Exchange,
Business West and The Swindon & Wiltshire
Local Enterprise Partnership. Find out more
about the group aimed at 18-35 year olds on
page 17.
I’m looking forward to our second Big
Breakfast at Cumberwell Park, Bradford
on Avon, on 25th June (find out more on
page 29). Come along to hear James Read,
founder of digital agency, Giant Peach, share
his tips on building an environmentally
sustainable business. I hope to see you
there!
