APPOINTED NEW CHAIR FOR WOMEN IN PROPERTY SOUTH WEST MATRIMONIAL TEAM STRENGTHENS Women in Property has appointed a new Chairman for the South West, Ros Trotman, an expert in planning matters at commercial law firm Thrings. The Swindon office of Bower & Bailey Solicitors has announced the qualification of Lauren Webb. Ros has been on the regional Women in Property committee for four years, and is looking forward to taking over the reins of the busy branch. With nearly 300 members and hosting over 100 events per year, Ros intends to use the breadth of this network to address diversity and the attraction and retention of female talent. Ros said, “I am delighted to take on the role of Chairman for 2019. This year, we want to give back even more to our valued members, supporting them in their career paths and creating inspiring and visible role models for the industry and for the next generation. With the current skills shortage in the industry, raising the profile of the property sector as a great career option to youngsters in schools is also very much part of our organisation’s remit. “We have seen a wave of successful national campaigns encouraging women to step up, recognise their professional worth and be seen. Building on the success of Women in Property’s initiatives to date, including our mentoring programme and last year’s panel debate training, we want to continue to give our members the guidance and opportunities they need to meet their career goals. The firm’s recognised property, planning, and construction teams offer extensive Lauren qualified into the Matrimonial department in March 2019, working alongside Partner, Katie Went, dealing with divorce and children matters. Katie said, “Lauren has worked with me on and off since joining the firm in 2017 and I am delighted that she is qualifying into my team. She has a straightforward, sympathetic and pragmatic approach to dealing with matters, which is ideal for experience when it comes to development, acquisition and disposal of buildings, landlord, tenant and planning matters. Paul initially joined the business in an interim capacity in 2018. His appointment follows over 10 years in the recruitment industry as a qualified accountant. Paul started his career at Summit Therapeutics before moving to join Capita Resourcing where he spent eight years in a variety of senior roles. Paul joins Outsource UK at an exciting time in its history, having seen its fifth year of consecutive growth and a 17% uplift in compound annual growth rate over this period. The company remains committed to further organic growth along with exploring acquisition opportunities. He said, “I am excited to work alongside CEO Nick Dettmar to help the business to continue to grow.
