MIGHTY OAKS FROM LITTLE ACORNS GROW For nearly 40 years Swindon-based printing services firm Acorn Press has been part of the local business community, working with local, national and international clients and brands large and small. The 50-strong team operates state-of-the- art litho, digital and large format printing presses. Over the last two years Acorn has continued to grow and invest in its team and equipment to improve and widen its offering. The most recent spend has been concentrated on greatly improving and increasing the company’s digital and large format capacity. This follows last year’s installation of a specialist cutting system also giving increased productivity bringing the total investment to over £400,000. The new digital press, large format printer and an in-house digital lamination system will now give Acorn the capability of offering multiple foiling and Spot UV options to their customers. Patrick Crouch, managing director said: “The new digital press is great for short run printing. It allows us to now do A4 landscape work as well as personalisation. The large format kit increases our existing capacity as we’re seeing ever greater demand for exhibition work including pull-up banners, posters, PVC banners and window graphics. “Also, we can now offer foiling and spot UV in-house rather than having to outsource like many printers. It allows designers to really engage their creativity when designing high- end mailers and brochures, really bringing print to life.” ‘’It’s an exciting time here at Acorn and we’re delighted to have David Bulfield and Simon Evers join our team as commercial manager and operations manager respectively.
