MEET EMMA SUMMERS FOUNDER
OF JUICE RECRUITMENT
2018 has been a landmark year for Juice Recruitment,
celebrating 20 years in business.
In 1998 Emma took the brave leap of selling her car to set up business and open
her first office in Manvers street Bath. Fast forward to 2018 and Juice has become
the go-to recruitment company in the South West, with offices in Bath, Bristol,
Cheltenham, Trowbridge and Swindon. Bath has remained at the heart of Juice
Recruitment with its headquarters just off George Street on 12 Miles’s Buildings.

Emma recalls: “When I set out on my own it was exceedingly
exciting, but also very daunting. I’d worked in the industry
for four years and felt the recruitment industry required a
fresh new approach. Right from the beginning I was keen
for Juice to be focused on customer relations, alongside a
distinctive brand, culture and very strong values of honesty
and integrity.”
Over the years Juice Recruitment has invested heavily in
its brand image and is highly visible in every town and city
where it has a base. From bold pink and blue shop fronts
to bus and billboard advertising, Emma and the team have
worked hard to be the name on everyone’s lips when it comes
to looking for a job or recruiting staff.
Emma said:“To work with the South West’s most prolific
brands, I knew our identity needed to be strong. What started
as just a logo and a set of core values has become a well-
known and highly respected business. Something I’m really
proud of.”
“A CEO of a very successful business once said to
me- ‘surround yourself with exceptional people with drive
and determination, just like yourself.’ I believe the key to a
winning team is leadership, a common goal, thorough plan
and ensuring you have 100% involvement and inclusion from
everyone in the business” said Emma.
For the last few years the labour market has really
struggled from a talent and candidate shortage. To enable
businesses to recruit and retain staff, they are having to look
at their offering and what’s important to their people from the
office space and its location, to providing career progression,
job flexibility and recognition and reward.
Emma added: “At Juice we practice what we preach. I
believe wholeheartedly in looking after my team, recognising
their contribution and achievement and rewarding their hard
work.
“Each quarter we get together sociably to recognise both
individual and branch achievements. This along with ‘wind
up Mondays’ over breakfast and ‘wine down Fridays’ over a
glass of wine. These kind of occasions are the real essence to
maintaining a fun and vibrant culture.”
To celebrate Juice’s 20th anniversary the team have been
holding pop up parties for staff, clients and business friends
at its five locations. The evenings are an occasion to celebrate
and thank everyone that has supported Emma and the team
on their business journey so far.
As we move into 2019 the team have a busy and fun
packed schedule, strengthening their existing divisions with
expansion into further locations across the South West…
