SYSTEMAGIC GET BUSY FOR A WIZZY

IT support firm Systemagic are getting on their bikes to raise money for local charity Designability .

Ten years ’ celebration leads to charity donation

Wiltshire business women Lis McDermott and Fiona Scott celebrated their 10th business anniversary by raising more than £ 1,100 for charity .
The aim is to raise £ 4750 over the next 12 months to sponsor a Wizzybug , an innovative powered wheelchair designed specifically for children under five who due to their medical condition are unable to walk or can only walk with difficulty .
The team will be gearing up two static bikes as they attempt to cover 1000 miles a month travelling the distance from their headquarters in Bradford on Avon to their furthest afield customer in Hong Kong , a total of 4934 miles .
All funds raised across the year will go towards helping a child enjoy the freedom and fun of being a toddler by providing them a with Wizzybug . Systemagic marketing manager , Becky Land said : “ The team are super excited to start the challenge , we ’ ll be inviting clients to not only sponsor us but to come to our office and help us get the miles in and reach our target . The fundraising
will not only be a great way to keep fit but also raise awareness of the fantastic work the team at Designability do . We ’ re looking forward to seeing what other fundraising activities we can throw in throughout the next year too !”

Fiona who is a Swindon-based journalist with her own media consultancy and professional photographer Lis – aka The Headshot Diva – often work together so it was natural for them to celebrate with a party .
“ It was through a chance remark ,” Fiona said , “ that we realised we ’ d both run our own businesses since 2008 – even though we didn ’ t know each other then . We immediately wanted to celebrate and felt organising something with a purpose would be a fantastic thing to do .”
Lis said : “ Fiona and I work together often and it made sense to come up with a plan together . We both chose a charitable project we wanted to support in our community and 50 people came along on the night .”
Supported by Fiona ’ s friend BBC presenter Paul Martin , the pair raised more than £ 1,100 for two local good causes . Half went to community radio station Swindon

105.5 and half went to Ainslie ’ s Pavilion Project , a charitable project to raise funds to rebuild the cricket pavilion at Purton Cricket Club in honour of local mum Ainslie Duffell who died from breast cancer in 2015 .
Lis said : “ We ’ d like to thank everyone who supported us . Our guests on the night , Paul Martin for being our fantastic speaker , those who donated auction and raffle prizes and everyone who shared posts and information across social media .”
