Creating a Culture for Success
By demonstrating a strong commitment to its internal team and adhering

THE BUSINESS EXCHANGE 2018
Business Awards in Oxford, with
Richard being jointly crowned
‘Business Leader of the Year’ for
his hands-on approach when
it comes to sales strategy and
product development – factors
that meant CIS was also a
finalist in the ‘Large Business of
the Year’ award.
As part of his vision, Richard
also sought external influence
in the form of business mentors
to coach and lead the executive
team as he set out to deliver
management objectives that
permeated throughout the firm.
This has been reflected in the
company’s rapid growth from
six staff to 29 in just six years, as
turnover eclipsed £2.9m in 2017.
This has also been fuelled by
the launch of vigorously tested
new products around ultra-
secure IT solutions and private
cloud in particular, where CIS
now offers services such as
VOIP, file storage application,
site monitoring, application
and system hosting, backup
and disaster recovery to be
consumed on a monthly basis.
GDPR is playing a huge part in
this too, with CIS now offering an
extensive encryption platform to
help organisations comply with
the EU’s new ruling.
Being based on the edge of
both Swindon and Oxford, CIS
is well equipped to serve the
M4 corridor and is consistently
growing its customer base
throughout the South West.
Supporting Swindon and
Wiltshire businesses is key to
their growth plan and the firm
recently exhibited at the South
West Expo, meeting with local
business leaders and finding
out more about their business
needs and challenges. Richard
said: “We pride ourselves on
delivering trusted impartial

“We approach
every change with
staff sensitivity
in mind and one
of our favourite
questions is,
“What could we
do better?”
“The staff here are the
company’s biggest asset and we
empower our people to make
decisions in the best interests
of the client every day,” opines
Richard Marsh CEO of CIS,
the leading IT consultancy and
managed services provider.
Richard is speaking openly
about a culture that has seen
the firm pick up two awards this
summer.
“We approach every change
with staff sensitivity in mind and
one of our favourite questions is,
“What could we do better?” he
explained. “This always brings
out great ideas and enables staff
to have their say.”
Execution on those beliefs
saw CIS pick up ‘Employer of
the Year’ at the annual Vale 4
