CREATIVE THINKING GROWING TREES OUT OF ACORNS Exciting things have been happening behind the doors of Swindon-based Acorn Press. As 2016 comes to a close and 2017 is upon us, the firm is set for continued growth in the months and years to come. This year they have invested in their people, promoting two long-term employees, Ross Peart and Andy Gaulton to company directors. Shaun Starkey who has been with the team for 20 years has also moved from production to sales further strengthening their sales team. The company prides itself on 'growing their own' and is proud to say over 50% of their staff have been with them for 20 years. Recently they worked out that there's a combined company service of over 550 years. Earlier this year Acorn refreshed their website and brand identity for a modern take on the firm's original look. The idea behind the rebrand was to retain a sense of the printer's traditional, personal, service-led approach, whilst showcasing that they are embracing new technologies to deliver the best print products to bring client stories to life. To heighten the visibility of the new-look brand and further extend their client base, Clare Milton has been appointed as business development and marketing manager. Clare has worked in marketing for a number of years across a range of industries and in a variety of roles. Clare said: "The mix of marketing and sales is an exciting new challenge for me and I'm looking forward to being part of Acorn's growth story." Clare has already got to work on a second phase of updates to their website. Investing in the future, the firm has also spent over half a million pounds on equipment to be used across all their service offerings including print on demand, large format printing, litho and digital products.
