Morris Owen pleased to announce new partner
Morris Owen are looking forward to the start of 2017 as they are pleased to announce that Dave Marshall is to become a partner with effect from 1 January 2017 , taking the firm to five partners and some 50 people in total ...
“ Dave joined us as a trainee back in 2004 ” commented Senior Partner David Bond “ and has grown and developed over the intervening 12 years showing the skills and attributes that are needed to look after our clients differing requirements .”
David continues “ Dave has been running a growing portfolio of clients over the past eighteen months . His speciality in the use of IT provides valuable input both for our clients as well as our own strategic plans to ensure the continued provision of a high quality proactive service to our client base .”
Dave Marshall ’ s back story is in line with the other partners in the firm , all of whom similarly trained and qualified with the firm , originally joining as an apprentice after leaving school , obtaining his AAT qualification in 2006 followed by becoming a Chartered Accountant in 2009 . He is currently studying to obtain the Chartered Tax Adviser qualification .
Working with a wide variety of businesses , Dave helps them with their everyday accounting and tax needs as well as their longer term planning and strategy . He also specialises in cloud solutions to ensure a smooth transition for clients when HMRC introduce their new Making Tax Digital plans .
Dave also looks after the majority of new business start-up clients , ensuring they get things right from the start and working with them on an ongoing basis to assist with their development plans .
“ When I first walked through the door of Morris Owen twelve years ago , my career aspirations were to become a qualified accountant ” explains Dave , “ as things moved on , so did those aspirations and here I am today , joining the partnership of that very same firm .”
