GOING GREEN
Commitment to the green agenda
drives growth for print firm
Digiprint is an independent South West based printer with offices
in Bath, Chippenham and Trowbridge. Established in 1987 under a
different name, owner Ben Gregory re-branded the firm to Digiprint
in 2002 to reflect the change in printing technology.
Often mistaken as a franchise or part of
a larger concern the company has always
had the aspirations of a bigger business.
The concept for the existing name was
devised just as digital printing was hitting
the marketplace, highlighting the fact the
firm has always been forward thinking.
2016 has been an exciting year so
far with £460k invested in the firm’s
growth. They have recently bought their
Chippenham property based on New Road,
completely renovated the building and
purpose-built new the facilities within it.
Digiprint is a green rated production
facility and all paper used is from
sustainable sources, meaning that for every
tree cut down three are planted in its place.
They’ve also invested £15k on their online
shop www.digiprintgroup.com seeing a
500% increased in web sales since go-live.
Digiprint’s services include traditional
litho print, digital printing and wide format

printing, shop and vehicle signage, fabric
printing and exhibition displays. They also
offer artwork and design services in-house.
The company is committed to being an
ethical business and has partnered with
HP for their printing equipment, using
the latest Energy Star rated machines and
cutting edge technology. They were the
first firm in the South West to invest when
the machines were first launched five years
ago and they’ve just updated the machines
to the latest model. Everything is recyclable
and green with the printers using vegetable
based ink. HP provides a recycling
programme ensuring components such as
cartridges etc never go to waste.
Digiprint’s HP latex printer used for
signage uses water based ink ensuring
no nasties are released into the air during
production. Ben said: “We’ve seen a 400%
increase in our signage business in the last
year and four new employees have been
taken on to manage the work load. Chris
Bonser is our signage production manager.
Some of you may know him in his other
role as vice president of Chippenham’s
Chamber of Commerce.”
When kitting out the new Chippenham
facility Ben took the initiative to ensure
the working environment was green too.
Ben said: “We’ve installed LED lighting
throughout the property, saving us up to
60% on our energy bills. Our commitment
to the green agenda has helped us win
clients. Good Energy signed up with us as it
fits their credentials to partner with us.
“Being an ethical business is important
to us. We invest heavily in our staff,
facilities and equipment to ensure that
not only do we offer a great service to our
clients, but the way we practi
