WESSEX CHAMBERS GETS
PREPARED TO INSPIRE
Wessex Chambers of Commerce have officially
uncovered their new brand – Inspire.
Previously Wessex offered services under
a number of brands including: Wessex
Chambers of Commerce, Wiltshire Business
Support Service, Wiltshire Business Hub and
The Enterprise Network.
The idea behind the new name Inspire
is to create one strong identity. Rob
Perks, chief executive of the newly named
organisation said: “Our clients and members
found our multiple identities confusing
and unhelpful. The change is the result of
a six month study into support and advice
available to businesses in the county,
especially small businesses.
“We listened to business owners and
entrepreneurs. By studying successful and
less successful businesses we have applied
our own knowledge, education and
experience to the question – What can we
do to make the greatest positive impact
on the small and medium-sized enterprise
community and the economy across
Swindon and Wiltshire?”
Inspire will provide educational seminars,
delivered by industry experts, on every

business topic imaginable, backed up by
one-to-one support from one of its team
of business managers. In addition, Inspire
will also arrange regular networking events
with inspirational speakers including highly
successful entrepreneurs, politicians and
other influential public figures dealing
with current business issues. There will be
regular newsletters and blogs provided
by professional partners and information
exchange and chat forums via the Inspire
website where clients will be able to talk
to each other. There will also be an online
service available to businesses who prefer
to interact digitally. Thanks to funding from
Wiltshire Council and the Department for
Business Innovation and Skills, this heavily
publicly subsidised service will be available to
any business from £25 per month plus VAT
Elaine Harvey, Inspire’s head of marketing
said: “We are incredibly excited about this
new initiative and we are keen to remain
closely aligned with and supportive of the
many partnerships and relationships that
we have established over the years. We

will continue to build on our partnerships
with other business support delivery
organisations.
“We will be establishing closer links with
natural partners to Inspire including higher
education organisations. This will enable us
to more specifically refer clients who require
further input from the world of academia as
well as providing assistance to HE providers
in placing interns and post graduation
students with suitable employers.”
