OUTSET SWINDON
MA2 Consultants Ltd
Michael Attwood previously worked
as a flexographic printer but could not
find any similar work in Swindon when
he moved to the town two years ago.
Having spotted a gap in the market,
both he and his father decided to start
up MA2 in June 2014.
He said: “We offered a service which enabled housing
developers to start the building process without having to
wait for Local Authority attendance in regards to Highway
adoption. We do this via independent surveys, inspections and
reports ready for LA handover.”
In September MA2 won its first contract for Taylor
Wimpey for inspection services on a housing development
in Worcestershire. The company started at another site in
Staffordshire in January, which is still ongoing, and they have
also been instructed to take over supervision of remedial
work. Apart from that, they have had meetings with
developers across the county and have quoted for numerous
jobs.
He said: “We are gradually expanding our business, we
have added ‘pre-council submission drawings checks’ to our
services. This will enable developers to save time and money
on the amount of drawings being submitted to the Local
Authority. This in turn achieves a faster lead time for the Local
Authority approval.

We don’t have offices across the country (and the high costs
associated with running them) and we can pass those savings
directly onto our clients. Whilst doing market research we
have found we are, on average, around 40% cheaper than
our competitors for a like-for-like quotation.

marketing and business administration. However, I personally
