Is your business protected from cyber attack?
With cybercrime on the rise globally,
is your company prepared for the worst?
“These days

is a target for
cybercrime”
Bath-based Computer
Network Defence (CND)
provides cyber security
services and manpower for
businesses of all sizes. They
started out by delivering
complex security operation
centres to large government
and public-sector clients, but
more recently their skill-
set is being relied upon by
businesses of all sizes, right
down to one person set-ups
with a handful of computers.
Andy Cuff, CEO of CND, said:
“These days any business of
any size with a computer is
a target for cybercrime. In
an ideal world we work with
a client to prevent things
happening in the first place,
though we can also monitor
computer acti vity within a
business in case something
slips through the net, or in
case one of their own users is
misbehaving.
“A good example of the
type of work we deliver is
this scenario. One of our
clients allows their users to
work from home and to do so
they connect through a VPN,
which is a secure computer
communication tunnel.
Monitoring the network,
we suddenly started to see
VPN connections from Spain
and France, which given
the summer holidays isn’t
remarkable, but suspicious
all the same. We were able
to tell the client, when it
occurred, the usernames
being used, the region of
the country and the devices
being used- in this case an
iPhone and iPad. Luckily,
they confirmed that their
staff were checking their
emails whilst on holiday, but
it could’ve been a different
story.”
For firms with a small

Until recently, cybercrime was not an area that received a lot of public
attention, but that is now rapidly changing with organisations realising they can
no longer afford to be in the dark regarding their own cyber security practices.
CND’s Unified Threat Detection
Unified Threat Detection
sensor within their network
that not only collects all the
logs from the computers, but
monitors the network traffic
and scans the computers
for vulnerabilities which an
attacker might exploit. It even
monitors cloud services such
as Office 365, GSuite and
AWS. Whilst CND manage
and monitor the output,
the client can also see the
systems security outputs in
one simple dashboard.
The sensor also allows you
to quickly map your assets,
set access notifications on
critical data files and detect
intrusions or suspicious
behaviour to support your
GDPR compliance and
ISO27001 certification.
If you want to try the
Unified Threat Detector for
yourself, CND is offering a
