The Business Exchange Bath & Somerset Issue 9: Autumn 2018 | Page 3

NOTE FROM THE EDITOR
INSIDE THIS EDITION
Welcome to our celebratory second
birthday edition.
I can’t believe it’s been two years since
the Business Exchange landed in Bath.
Our launch party at The Assembly Rooms
saw over 200 movers and shakers from
Bath and the surrounding area descend
on the venue and the support we received
from local businesses was fantastic. There
was a real hunger for a dedicated business
magazine for the city and this feeling has
continued. I’m delighted that nearly all of
the advertisers seen in our first issue are
still working with us today, a testament that
our offering works and gives value.
I chose the name The Business
Exchange as I wanted to have a reciprocal
relationship with our readers and
advertisers. I often felt that the press
was a one-way street and more needed
to be offered from magazines in order
for them to survive and be respected.
We are different as we offer joined up
campaigns in print, online and via social
media. We also dedicate a free page each
issue to charities and charitable giving.
This is our commitment to corporate
social responsibility. In my opinion
charities should not be paying for space
in magazines and businesses ‘doing good
things’ should be championed.
September 2018 also marks five years
since The Business Exchange launched in
Swindon & Wiltshire and now is the time
to invest in our future and add new strings
to our bow and grow our offering across
both geographies. Watch this space for
announcements coming soon!
I hope you enjoy this special edition
championing the best of Bath with our Top
100 feature.
As we reach this business milestone
I would like to say a HUGE thank you to
all of our advertisers, contributors and
supporters who have helped us along the
way.
Enjoy reading this special edition!
