James Smith, Business Administration Apprentice at the RUH Bath APPRENTICESHIPS: GET THE RIGHT HELP AND SUPPORT TO FIND YOUR FUTURE WORKPLACE Apprenticeships bring many benefits for employers and can be an important part of a company’s recruitment policy. We have extensive experience of working with both large and small employers, enabling us to tailor our apprenticeship programmes to meet the needs of individual businesses. Here are just a few benefits that we’re proud to offer employers working with us at the Bath Apprenticeships and Training Hub. • Apprentices pass at a high standard, not just a pass. We deliver added value courses. For example, with our accountancy apprenticeships, we offer the opportunity to study for AAT qualifications which is an added opportunity on top of the apprenticeship framework. • We adopt a flexible approach for businesses Apprenticeship standards, outlined by the government, dictate what an apprentice will be doing in the workplace. We work to these frameworks and add value to make sure they reflect business need. • Apprentices and employers have access to a digital portfolio. This digital portfolio contains detailed updates and can be accessed at any time, so that apprentices and employers can monitor progress. • Our completion rates are above the national average. For the last academic year in 2016/17, 71.6 per cent of apprentices completed their qualifications, which is 3.3 per cent above the national average. • We have excellent facilities at both our City Centre Campus and Somer Valley Campus Our newest facility, at our Somer Valley Campus in Radstock, is a state-of-the-art facility catering for 500 students and apprentices studying construction trades. • We work hard for business to give them the best support possible We take our work seriously; our aim is to service stakeholders in the local demographic providing a talent pipeline for workforces. Apprenticeships manager Rob Aldous said: “The new apprenticeships standards have arrived and as they’re released, we’re continuing to react to the changing marketplace. “Since May 2017, we’ve supported stakeholders in delivering over seven new standards, including hairdressing, customer services, engineering and accountancy.” “Bath College has developed new delivery models to ensure we retain our high standards and remain efficient. As an apprenticeship team, we’re continuing to thrive and support apprentices in their learning journey, so that they become an asset to their workplace.” To find out more contact: Apprenticeships Manager Robert Aldous on (01225) 312191 extension number 821 or 07791766161 or e-mail: [email protected] or [email protected] For more information: www.bathcollege.ac.uk [email protected] 01225 312191 ext. 720 THE BUSINESS EXCHANGE 2018 15
