BIGGER CONVERSATIONS, BIGGER COMMUNITY
Bath Digital Festival 2025 brought together over 2,000 attendees for a three-day programme exploring the ideas shaping our digital future.
With 43 events hosted across Bath between 13th-15th May, the festival offered a space for meaningful discussion, shared learning, and crosssector insight into how technology is evolving and what it means for society.
This year’ s programme was structured around three themes— Space, Sustain, and Beings— each providing a distinct lens through which to examine innovation. From the role of the UK in global space exploration, to the future of work, and the ethics of AI, the content was designed to inform, question, and inspire.
Keynote sessions and panel discussions tackled practical and philosophical issues alike: how can technology support more sustainable business models? What responsibilities do we have when developing humanfacing AI? And how do we ensure inclusion and accessibility remain central as innovation accelerates?
Core sessions included a keynote on the relationship between humans and AI, a panel on augmented futures in health and education, and a debate on the mental health implications of automation. These were complemented by student showcases, research demonstrations, and interactive workshops— highlighting the breadth of talent and enquiry in the region.
The festival reached over 1.6 million people across press, social and partner channels— a 59 % increase from 2024. Engagement was not only broader but deeper, with a 33 % rise in attendees from underrepresented groups and a strong presence from both early-career professionals and senior decisionmakers.
Attendees spanned technology, education, creative industries, research, and business support— reflecting the region’ s diverse digital ecosystem. With 55 % identifying as senior-level professionals, the festival also provided a platform for strategic conversations and future collaboration.
Bath Digital Festival 2025 demonstrated that public engagement, inclusive design, and critical debate are essential components of responsible innovation. It showed that curiosity, when well supported, can drive not just ideas— but informed, impactful action.
