LEADERSHIP DIALOGUES RETURNS TO BATH FORUM THIS SUMMER
Following the resounding success of last year’ s event, Leadership Dialogues 2025 will bring together experienced and aspiring business leaders for another day of stimulating conversations, thought-provoking sessions and high-value networking.
Held on Wednesday 2nd July at The Forum in Bath city centre, this year’ s event will focus on Leadership as a Force for Good, calling on leaders from all walks of life to explore how leadership can drive positive change and benefit communities, organisations and society as a whole.
Hitendra Patel, Founder and CEO of The Global Innovation Management Institute, is one of this year’ s guest speakers.
With six patents to his name, Hitendra’ s technological innovations and vision were key to securing Motorola’ s position as a telecommunications powerhouse in the 1990s. Throughout his career he has helped over 50 global corporations foster innovative cultures that produce tangible results.
We met Hitendra to find out more about him and what he will be discussing on the day.
What is The Global Innovation Management Institute? The Global Innovation Management Institute( GIMI) is a global non-profit standard certification board. It is the world’ s largest certification body for innovation professionals and has certified thousands of companies and significantly more individuals.
It is heavily involved in the development of ISO innovation management standards. What inspired you to set up the organisation? The inspiration stemmed from the observation that innovation was largely treated as an art rather than a structured management discipline, particularly within business schools and management practices. The goal was to create a standardised framework, practical tools and foundational concepts to enable organisations to achieve consistent and scalable innovation results. What will you be talking about at Leadership Dialogues 2025? I will be focusing on the critical aspects of innovation leadership, specifically the essential role that leaders play in driving innovation within their organisations. This will include discussions on:
• Strategies for leaders to effectively champion and guide innovation initiatives
• Creating a culture that fosters innovation
• How leaders can implement frameworks and processes to ensure consistent innovation output
• The impact of leaders in the implementation of AI into innovation practices
• It will also explore the requirements of effective innovation leadership including:
• Embracing the‘ Power of And’ to explore both the core business and future possibilities
• The ability to have vision, and to communicate that vision to the teams
• A proactive approach to cultivating a culture of innovation
• The ability to empower teams and individuals to take calculated risks
• A commitment to continuous learning and adaptation in the face of evolving innovation trends
• The ability to understand and utilise the tools of innovation management
• Providing employees with dedicated time and space to experiment, learn and develop innovative solutions
If you could share one top tip, what would it be? Embrace the‘ Power of And’. Don’ t limit your focus to the present. As an innovation leader, you must simultaneously manage your core business and explore future opportunities. Provide your team with the time, space and resources to experiment, and ensure that innovation projects are seen through to completion. What are you hoping to get out of the day? I am hoping to:
• Reinforce the importance of innovation as a management science
• Share GIMI’ s framework and tools with a wider audience
• Connect with leaders who are committed to driving innovation within their organisations
• Expand the GIMI network
• Promote the value of GIMI certifications
