Söderberg & Partners takes stake in Fidelius as part of UK expansion push
Söderberg & Partners has bought a significant minority stake in Bath-headquartered financial services group Fidelius as part of a drive to increase its footprint in the UK advice space .
The investment is subject to FCA ( Financial Conduct Authority ) approval .
Fidelius , which has offices across Bath , Cheltenham , Chelmsford , London and Mansfield , offers a suite of advisory services including wealth management , employee benefits , mortgages , as well as a specialism in advice to returning expats . Launched in 1998 , Fidelius has grown significantly through both organic and M & A expansion .
Commenting on the investment , Jim Grant , Chief Executive Officer of Fidelius said , “ In Soderberg & Partners we have found a partner who sees the world the same way we do . Whilst our day to day will very much be business as usual , this partnership is set to supercharge our offering . For one , we are now proudly part of one of the top 15 mid-market accountancy firms in the UK , employing over 1,000 people in more than 40 offices around the country .
But it also allows us to expand our range of expertise as we acquire other firms in the region . And this isn ’ t just hot air , we have already put this increased capital to good use by acquiring Swindon-based , family-owned accountancy practice David Starbuck Limited . The firm ’ s reputation is impeccable but , just as importantly , it also shares Monahans ’ vision and ethos , and will enable us to offer shared knowledge to businesses in the region .
The lesson here is that there is always room for growth . Part of our strength as a firm lies in our ability to recognise the importance of never standing still .
