The company ’ s TagRanger system uses innovative GPS-beating ranging technology to direct users to the exact location of an animal in real time .
The product represents an exciting advance on existing tracking technologies which rely solely on GPS and guide users to the last-recorded location .
This time-delay can be critical to success , particularly when dealing with challenging environments and small or fast-moving animals .
The TagRanger system consists of a small device fitted to the animal , a handheld finder device paired with your smartphone and an app that connects with the finder device .
The tech offers users a range of offline tracking capabilities without the need for network infrastructure .

been a real labour of love for the team at Icoteq who are passionate about innovating new technologies to support conservation and protect our natural world .
“ We were inspired to create this product by a large parrot , namely the kakapo species unique to New Zealand . They are notoriously hard to find , being well camouflaged until you are right next to them . TagRanger is a solution to exactly this type of problem where GPS can get you close , but TagRanger takes you right there .
“ We are fortunate to have worked with clients such as National Geographic , Zoological Society of London , WWF and Arribada Initiative on a wide range of projects , from tracking plastic waste in the Ganges to green turtles in Cyprus . These experiences have helped us steer the product in a direction that creates so many possibilities through the software-defined architecture and extensive configurations that can be applied to a variety of applications .

Sport , Cities and Space are the chosen themes for this year , with each one showcased with its own day from Tuesday 14th May to Thursday 16th May .

new opportunities to collaborate and support each other .
