ART Accountants brings together three longstanding , ex-Robson Taylor employees . Peter Barton heads up the team . He is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant and was a partner at Robson Taylor in Bath , and more recently at Baker Tilly . Peter ’ s portfolio of clients primarily includes owner managed businesses and charities .
Tax manager Matthew Smith and account manager Gary Newman oversee the taxation and accounting services . Matthew has over twenty years ’ experience of working for Robson Taylor , before their merger with Baker Tilly . Likewise , Gary Newman joined Robson
Taylor in 1997 and only left to set up ART Accountants with Peter in 2012 .
As well as all the accountancy services you would expect , ART Accountants offer a full payroll service . Payroll is becoming an absolute minefield for businesses , with new legislations coming through , including mandatory RTI submissions and Auto Enrolment Pension schemes . Caley Williams , another ex Robson Taylor colleague was recruited in 2013 to head up the Outsourcing and Payroll departments .
Making Tax Digital will be mandatory from April 2018 and requires businesses to keep digital records and send quarterly
updates . ART Accountants partners with Xero , QuickBooks Online and SageOne , giving their clients choice and the most effective cloud accounting solution for them .
Accounts manager Gary Newman said : “ Setting up the practice now means we fully understand the pressures involved today in starting and growing a business . We are there to support and advise our clients along the way , meaning they have more time to spend on growing their business . “ We are sourcing our stationery and other services from local firms , as we believe that businesses are beginning to choose community over convenience .
We would like to thank our suppliers and of course , our clients for their continued support as we reach this business milestone .”
Being part of the Bath community is important to ART Accountants . They are members of the Bath and Wiltshire branch of the FSB , and are supporters of Bath City Football Club and Bath Boules .
