SELECTSCIENCE CELEBRATES 25 YEARS
Bath-based digital publisher SelectScience ® has commemorated its 25- year legacy of innovation in digital science communication by hosting a dedicated celebration at Isambard Kingdom Brunel ' s iconic ship , the SS Great Britain , in Bristol .
The event brought together a diverse audience of scientists , industry experts , and the SelectScience team to honour the company ’ s silver anniversary and the achievements of scientists and manufacturers worldwide .
From its global HQ in Corston , SelectScience has been spearheading digital communication in science since it was founded by Arif and Louise Butt in 1998 , providing trusted information to scientists working across multiple disciplines , including Covid-19 , cancer research , drug discovery , sustainability , food quality , clinical diagnostics and many others .
The company ’ s digital publishing skills and content marketing programs have secured its place as a leader in the global scientific community , providing peer-to-peer content and lab product reviews that help connect scientists with trusted solutions .
Since partnering with Vespa Capital in 2021 , the business has expanded across business functions including editorial and content creation , marketing roles , digital production , sales and digital tech , with increased opportunities for new roles in the team .

Business West celebrates 200 years of supporting business
Business West has launched a new campaign entitled ‘ 200 Years of Future Thinking ’ to mark the two centuries that have passed since the Bristol-based Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1823 .
The organisation which started out in Bristol is now one of the largest Chambers of Commerce in the UK and one of the most influential voices for business . It represents over 20,000 businesses in the South West including its network of Chambers of Commerce members in Bath , Bristol , South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire .
The ‘ 200 Years of Future Thinking ’ campaign coincides with a new look brand image for Business West , fit for the future .
‘ 200 Years of Future Thinking ’ will focus on extracting information and interesting stories around key topics of international trade , skills , and innovation , which would have been important in 1823 and which will massively impact business over the next 200 years .
An additional theme of sustainability , which would not have featured 200 years ago , has been included as it has become crucial in the past few decades and perhaps the key business driver of the future .
