TEDxBath is back
TEDx Bath is back , with an afternoon of inspiring talks , exciting performances and unlimited ideas . Taking place at The Forum , Bath on Saturday 14th October , the event will present eight speakers and two acts . TEDx Bath has been sharing ideas and inspiration since 2018 . TEDx is a showcase for speakers presenting great , well-formed ideas in under 18 minutes . Last year was its first year in the Forum , in front of a packed-out crowd . This year is shaping up to be even better .
TEDxBath has grown from its first event in the Abbey with 100 people , to last year ’ s event , held for the first time in The Forum with a capacity of 1,600 people .
In 2022 the diverse speaker line-up included : 12 yearold ‘ Boy in the Tent ’ Max Woosey ; Olympic gold medalist Amy Williams ; and LGBTQ + Activist and Eastern Orthodox Theologian Nik Jovčić-Sas . Many of Bath ’ s largest businesses rallied together to sponsor the event . Among the partners for this year ’ s event are Bath Spa University , the University of Bath , Buro Happold and RWK Goodman .
As before , this year ’ s event will cover a range of contemporary talk topics and the speakers will be announced soon . As last year , the event will also feature performances from talented local people and include the TEDxBath Innovation Lab , a place for the audience to discover innovations from sponsors , mingle with past speakers and continue discussions about the talks they have just witnessed . This year ' s speakers will be announced very soon .
TEDxBath is run by a group of volunteers , who have come together each year to make it happen . Comms Lead for 2023 , Bob Mytton of local design agency Mytton Williams , said “ We are proud to be supporting such an exciting local event . Having been to the event for the first time last year , I was keen for us to join the team , get involved and help with the campaign and all communications .”
