Julia came up with the idea for the app after establishing a need for it herself . In 2011 , shortly after the birth of her third child , Julia was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis ( MS ). What followed was a long health journey , but Julia decided to take her health into her own hands .
Julia , said , “ At some stage the possibility of having Lyme Disease arose , but the experts couldn ’ t decide which illness it was , and with treatments varying so dramatically I initially felt so confused and lost . It eventually became clear that I needed to take more responsibility for finding a solution .
“ I began working with a nutritional therapist and changed my diet to support my goal of becoming as healthy as possible , so my body could keep any diseases in check . It worked and it put me in charge of my own health .
“ For several years on this health journey I tried various treatments and supplements . Some worked , others didn ’ t . I kept a notebook detailing the food I ate each day and gave myself an energy score , but I found my records too limiting as I began to realise how many more factors were playing a part .
“ I tried to search for a digital tool or app to record multiple aspects of my life but there was nothing that did what I wanted it to . The

available trackers all focused on one aspect only , e . g ., sleep or fitness or mindfulness .”
Julia realised that a more holistic approach was needed and started to think about a possible digital solution and the more she learned about lifestyle , functional and personalised medicine the six categories to track emerged .
Now , more than 12 years after her diagnosis , Julia is free of MS symptoms , doesn ’ t take any medication and is the healthiest she ’ s been in her adult life .
Working alongside technology partner Bath-based Rocketmakers , Julia is now helping to empower others struggling with health and other issues .
The WAVESIX app has been developed to help users spot the things that bring them down or lift them up . In the app ’ s calendar view you can compare up to six entries side by side . Over time this gives you a pattern showing how different activities influence each other , e . g ., sleep and productivity , cold weather and pain , singing and happiness .
Julia , added , “ One small change can have knock-on effects that ripple through all aspects of your life . WAVESIX gives you the feedback to make that small change successfully .”

WAVESIX works on both Apple and Android devices and is available to download from the Google Play and Apple Store .
There are plans to develop the app further and WAVESIX welcomes collaborations and partnerships from businesses , health or wellbeing practitioners or organisations or universities .
