The city ' s high streets are being given a new lease of life thanks to investment from a number of sources including national and international brands , local restauranteurs expanding their offering and start-up ideas born through the lockdowns coming into fruition .

Chapter 22 Roots & Records on Broad Street . A shop combining records , exotic plants and coffee for a unique high street experience . It ' s run by partners Dean and Nicola who took their big passions in life and merged them into a one-off shop .

Apotheke Perfume has opened a new shop on 27 High Street . The perfumery brand which was founded in Berlin is vegan and cruelty free , and is produced in small batch runs to avoid waste . It offers a ‘ perfume tarot ’ experience designed by its founder , to give customers personalised perfume readings .

Square Grill Restaurant and Piano Bar in Abbey Churchyard is the latest addition to local restauranteurs Gazmend Gashi and Dani Quaglietta ’ s empire . The pair also own Bath ’ s Antica Italian restaurant on Argyle Street and Portofino Oyster Bar and Restaurant on High Street . Overlooking Bath Abbey , the new venue offers live piano music played every day and night .

The new concept store is part of a programme which is being rolled out across the company ’ s 32 branches , with Bath being one of the first stores outside London to see the investment .
