At The Business Exchange 2021 has been a year of focus . Listening to the local business community and delivering our offering based on people ’ s needs and how the print , online and events markets are evolving as a result of the pandemic .
In July we were delighted to host our first event in 17 months , an afternoon tea held outside at Cumberwell Park near Bradford on Avon . We capped the numbers at 45 to help all attendees feel safe and there was a real sense of celebration with a lot of laughter and excitement at life starting to get back to normal again . It was wonderful to hear the stories of resilience despite the struggles we ’ ve all faced and how so many of us have continued to pivot throughout 2021 to survive and thrive .

This year and in 2020 , it has taken on a new meaning when it comes to business . For many , success has simply been survival . In struggling times it ’ s important to celebrate our successes , however small and this issue hopes to do just that and put the spotlight on some fantastic businesses and organisations doing great things in our community .
Success at The Business Exchange this year has included hosting a week-long charity conference for over 200 delegates online in September . Staging our first hybrid ( virtual with live presentations ) business awards , The Techies Swindon & Wiltshire and enhancing our digital offering to include more click-to-play video content to give added value to our readers and advertisers . This autumn we celebrated eight years serving Swindon and Wiltshire and five years serving Bath and Somerset .
