Professional skills for contractors, providing expertise in retrofitting for a low-carbon future, are being offered by Futureproof. The training will equip businesses and individuals with the practical knowledge they need to understand how to create homes for clients that are more comfortable and efficient to run, using less energy and lower impact materials. Thanks to government support, SME contractors and trades working in the West of England region (Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset) are able to access Futureproof training provided by The Green Register free of charge until March 2021. Participants will gain essential knowledge from a wholehouse perspective, considering how each installation relates to another to create a successful retrofit. By learning about the basics of building physics, best practice detailing, low impact materials and renewable technology, contractors and builders can take practical knowledge straight to site and be one step ahead along the path to a greener future economy.
