As we all begin to emerge from the Coronavirus outbreak there is some good news for landlords.
The Government has cut stamp duty with the
initial threshold increasing from £125,000 to
£500,000, therefore landlords will only pay
the surcharge of 3% on properties costing up
to £500,000, potentially saving thousands of
pounds. The stamp duty holiday is in place
until 31st March 2021 and the relief extends
to companies purchasing property as well as
individuals.
