Rocketmakers was founded in Bath in
2008. Focusing exclusively on cutting edge
technology and disruptive innovation, the
company has designed software for the
BBC, SportUK and O2 and has helped
to launch several successful start-ups.
Rocketmakers was awarded the Queen’s
Award for Enterprise in 2018.
CEO Richard Godfrey has a wealth
of technical expertise, a critical eye
for usability, and blue-chip project
management skills from his many years at
Deloitte and Microsoft. He’s worked on and
led some of the software projects that have
become essential parts of the daily lives of
consumers and businesses. Vic joined Curo’s predecessor in 2011,
initially focusing on integrating three
housing associations into one. Curo
was formed in 2013 and since then has
more than doubled its turnover and has
a pipeline of over 2,700 new homes in
development.
Under Vic’s leadership, Curo has become
an Investors In People ‘Gold’ employer,
has been ranked 27th Best 100 Not for
Profit Company to work for in the UK by the
Sunday Times and has won many awards
for its services as well as its new homes
and regeneration activities.
In 2019, Vic won Business Insider South
West Property Personality of the year and
the Vistage Lifetime Achievement Award.
Alison Herbert Tarquin McDonald
Allison joined the Bath BID team in June
2017 bringing extensive private and public
sector experience, more recently as part of
the B&NES Bath Quays team.
Allison has set up a number of
organisations and businesses, most notably
the hugely successful independent Artisan
Market in Frome. A keen organiser and
enthusiastic collaborator she has project
managed a wide variety of events and her
experience helps to support Bath BID levy
payers achieve the results they need for
their businesses and the city as a whole. Tarquin spent seven years at KPMG in
finance and corporate finance roles,
working on a wide range of projects
followed by five years in a Private Equity
backed business.
He joined Bath Rugby in 2012, initially
as Finance and Strategy Director, then as
Managing Director from 2014, before taking
on the Chief Executive role in 2016.
A major part of his current focus is the
Stadium for Bath project which aims to
deliver a new home for Bath Rugby along
with community facilities at The Rec.

Claire Smith
Office Director (Bath), Buro Happold
Claire studied at the University of Bath
before meeting Ted Happold (founder of
BuroHappold) in 1988. He was then head
of department in the engineering faculty.
Ted inspired Claire in her career which has
included work on Shakespeare’s Globe
Theatre on the Thames, the Olympic
Stadium and the London Cable Car Project.
In the west, she has helped to design the
extension to St George’s in Bristol and
the Hayesfield School expansion in Bath
alongside a host of other projects locally,
nationally and internationally.
Her current projects include the
Museum of the Future in Dubai, a torus-
shaped structure with a façade made from
Arabic poetry as well as the restoration and
repurposing of Detroit train station and its
surrounds.
