JUICE HOSTS RECRUITMENT
INSIGHTS SEMINAR
Bath’s Juice Recruitment recently teamed up with some of Bath’s
most prolific business owners, legal firms and HR professionals to
host a Recruitment Insight event at the city’s Walcot House.
The evening was chaired by TV newsreader Kylie Pentelow and panellists included Jane Jones, Director
of People at Curo; Kate Benefer, Partner at Royds Withy King; Emma Summers, Managing Director at
Juice Recruitment; Francoise Woodward, Director of People and Culture at Good Energy and Claire
Webber, Head of HR at Lovehoney.
Topics up for discussion included how
businesses attract talent; how companies
select candidates; motivating teams with
reward and recognition programmes;
internal processes to retain talented staff
and the effects of Brexit and immigration
on recruitment.
Attendee, Joanne Rolliston, Engage
& Grow Coach at ActionCOACH said, “It
was an incredible evening hosted by Juice.
The honesty of the panel was raw, and I
was on the edge of my seat as the experts
shared their viewpoint and expertise. I work
with teams on engagement to increase
productivity and, listening to the panel, it’s
something these organisations are really
embracing.”
With record levels of unemployment,
competition is fierce to retain and attract
good staff. The panel agreed that company
culture and values are key in today’s
employment market to retaining talent.
Accommodating agile working and a work/
life balance was discussed, as well as
offering incentives to make employees feel
valued such as being given a day off on
their birthday.
Jane from Curo gave a great example of
how to engage remote workers. A team of
Curo’s remote workers meet at a local café
once a week for lunch. She mentioned how
she felt “great pride” driving past the café
seeing a row of Curo vans parked outside.
These regular meeting give a sense of
team to those working from home and help
them to feel more valued.
