This time, we have chosen cloud as the main theme of our magazine because of its
extraordinary importance in building successful businesses. With the provision of
continually improving scalability and flexibility for IT infrastructures and application
services, the cloud represents a new paradigm in business and technology. Today, cloud
technology offers cost-effective means to meet fast-growing and dynamically changing
market requirements. While enabling mobility, collaboration, and innovations in
technologies like machine learning, big data, or the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud
computing empowers businesses to optimize, innovate, and disrupt to gain a
competitive edge. Furthermore, cloud technology has given companies the dexterity in

While researching about the increasing adoption of cloud, I found the latest update of
the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Semiannual Public Cloud
Services Spending Guide. It says that worldwide spending on public cloud services and
infrastructure is forecast to reach $210 billion in 2019—an increase of 23.8% over
2018. Further, the market is forecast to achieve a five-year compound annual growth
rate (CAGR) of 22.5% with public cloud services spending reaching $370 billion in
2022. This rapidly growing phenomenon is the live example of exceeding utilization of
cloud in various industries across the world. Our team of Business APAC regularly
